Me, Myself, and I.

Assalamualaikum warahmatullahi wabarakatuh

I went to the summer conference in Green Lane Masjid on Friday, Sat and Sun, and it was excellent. The people delivering the lectures were easy to listen to and enthusiastic about every topic they were given to do.

One of the speakers was Sheick Sajid Ahmed Umar, who was born in Leicster, brought up in Zimbabwe and educated in Saudi. MashaAllah, just by that, I was inxlined to listen to him. He said that he was given the title of a topic named: “Me, Myself, and I.” and he thought what talk he could give about that topic. He said that obviously, he thought of the obvious reaction that most people would give, and talk baout selfishness and vanity, and the likes, but he said it was too common, and every one has heard this time and time again.

He decided to do the talk about how will be alone.

We will die alone.

We will be buried alone.

We will be questioned alone.

We will be punished in the grave alone.

We will recieve the book alone.

We will be accountable for Our Own sins.

We will confront Allah alone.

We will flee from our brothers, sisters, mothers, fathers, and friends.

We will be alone.

And just those couple of sentences that he started the lecture off with got me thinking. That is so true. And yet how much time do we spend with our friends, and families, enjoying their company and hating to be alone. Do we ever think that maybe its beneficial for us to sit alone sometimes, and ponder what we have done for the day. Do we ever reflect on our day, see if we did all the things that are pleasing to Allah

How do we know that when we sleep we will wake up the next morning?

How do we know the head that haid down might not get up again?

How do we know that when we breath in, we might not be able to breath out again?

How do we know the eyes that have closed will open again?

We don’t. So we should ponder and reflect on all we did on that day, and if we did anything wrong, aske for forgiveness. Say Astaghfirullah atleast 50 times, and mean it.

Brothers and Sisters, we need to wisen up, and know that we wont be in this world forever. We need to repent, and start doing the things you said you would do five years ago. Start worshipping Allah. Command the good and forbid the bad.

Wasalam.

Ruling on nasheeds

The word nasheed in Arabic means raising the voice when reciting verse and making the voice sound beautiful and gentle.

There are conditions to which attention must be paid with regard to this matter:

Not using forbidden musical instruments in nasheed.

Not doing it too much or making it the focus of the Muslim’s mind, occupying all his time, or neglecting obligatory duties because of it.

Nasheed should not be recited by women, or include haraam or obscene speech.

They should not resemble the tunes of the people of immorality and promiscuity.

They should be free of vocal effects that produce sounds like those of musical instruments.

They should not have moving tunes which make the listener feel “high” as happens to those who listen to songs. This is the case with many of the nasheeds which appear nowadays, so that the listeners no longer pay any attention to the good meaning of the words, because they are so entranced by the tunes. And Allaah is the  Source of strength.

I’m an inspiration apparently…

Assalamualaykum warahmatullahi wa barakatuh wa maghfirah.

So yeah… apparently, I’m an inspiration, and this person seems to think so. Jazakillahu khayran Bubbli. 🙂

I have to choose some other blogs which I thought were an inspiration..

The bloggers that I’m about to give the award to probably don’t even care about this, and won’t look at it twice, but

Salaf stories – I don’t know who this person is – never spoken to them, but their blog really inspires me and tells  me alot about what people were like in the Prophets time (saw) and they share some heart lightening stories with us aswell.

Reviving the Sunnah: A call for knowledge – Again, I have no idea who the person is, but I have learnt a lot with the in depth explanation that is given there.

Muslimaah – I would like to carry on the trend, and say that I have no idea who this person is aswell, but being my sister, I’m bound to know her. There are very good reminders on that blog, and it benifits me greatly at times.

Hasnain’s life – Very interesting stories and pieces of information I have learnt from this blog.

Islam – Worlds greatest religion – A lot of indepth articles about things we should know, or could improve on and how we should be. Very informative.

Well, that’s all for now… till next time…

Assalamualaykum warahmatullahi wa barakatuh wa maghfirah.
